Is She...Or Isn't She?

Shelby and I have been longeing Flash at least three times a week for a month now. We've been adding longer trot intervals and a few canter intervals, and we've been using the surcingle and side reins once she's warmed up. But the strangest thing has been happening.

Flash has seemed...off. Not lame, just off. And not all the time. Only when trotting, and only when going to the right.

But on days I don't have time to longe, I will sometimes turn her out, in a pasture if the weather is decent, or in the arena if no one is using it. When Flash is having unstructured playtime, she is not off. Not even a little bit. She is nowhere near lame.

She will tear around that arena like a much younger, much less mentally stable, crazy-idiot kind of horse.

Is she faking to get out of work? Or does she have some strange lameness that comes and goes, and only appears when trotting clockwise on a circle?
